Gerald began working in the medical waste industry as a teenager. His grandfather, Tim Gyorke also the previous owner of Superior needed help marketing the company to Northern Michigan dentists. After attending his classes at Canton high school, Gerald would send dozens of flyers out to small dental offices. Once graduated from high school, Gerald accepted an athletic scholarship to the University of Michigan-Dearborn to play lacrosse. After 2 semesters at UMD, Gerald made the decision to work for Superior full-time, while continuing his education at the Mike Illitch School of Business.
Together Gerald and Tim took the company to new heights. Tim noticed Gerald’s passion for the industry and sold Gerald Superior Medical Waste, LLC in April of 2017. Since then, Superior has grown to service dozens of different industries. From transporting wastes to selling his service, Gerald’s putting his stamp on the market.
