Michigan State health codes prohibit any “producer of medical waste” to store ANY AMOUNT of RMW waste for longer than 90 days. National medical waste haulers are not aware of the EGLE’s strict medical waste policy. They often push their customer’s pickups back for their own convenience. What they don’t know is that the customer is will be over the 90-day storage period and is subject to daily fines of no more than $1,000.
